Bahrain has suspended all political and social activities by opposition political society al-Wefaq on Tuesday after an order from the Justice Ministry.

In a statement Tuesday on the state-run Bahrain News Agency, the Justice Ministry says it has suspended the Al-Wefaq opposition group and frozen its assets.

The Justice Ministry also added that it suspended the political society’s work for not following the constitution and “activities that sow and divide the unity of citizens.”

Al-Wefaq’s main headquarters is also set to be closed while its financial assets will be frozen by the state.
