A Bahraini court has stripped five people of their citizenship and ordered them jailed after convicting them on terrorism charges, the Bahrain News Agency reported Monday.

Two unnamed defendants were sentenced to three and ten years over activities related to involvement in the Al-Wafaa Islamic Party.

The two men were arrested following a bomb attack in the northern village of al-Qadam in January 2016.

Three others were sentenced to 15 years for their involvement in another group known as the Mukhtar Brigades. One of the men was fined 200,000 dinars ($530,000).
