Saudi Arabia’s King Salman arrived in Mina to personally oversee the arrangements made for pilgrims.

The King arrived in the Holy sites on Sunday just as pilgrims where making their way back from Arafat toward Mina and Muzdalifa, where they spent the night in prayers and picking small pebbles and stones before the stoning of the devil ritual on Monday morning.

On Monday, Muslims around the world are also marking one of two Islamic holidays, known in Arabic as Eid al-Adha, commemorating what Muslims believe was Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael as a test of his faith from God.
