An Israeli working along the border with Egypt was wounded by gunfire on Tuesday, officials said, but further details on the incident were not yet clear.
The Israeli military said shots were heard in the border area and “initial reports suggest that an Israeli was wounded”.
The defense ministry said an employee for a contractor carrying out work on the border fence was wounded by gunfire.
There were no further details on the location of the incident and no indication of the source of the shots.
