Passengers injured after Qatar flight experiences turbulence over Atlantic

A Qatar Airways flight from Washington to Doha initiated a diversion after experiencing severe turbulence over the Atlantic Ocean Sunday, with 350 passengers on board.
A number of injuries were reported due to the turbulence.
The aircraft landed on Portugal’s Lajes Terceira island with one passenger suffering from a fractured leg and two others sustaining minor injuries, while another passenger complained about heart ache, The Aviation Herald reported.
Other passengers reported that the aircraft dropped suddenly causing passengers with unfastened seatbelts to be thrown out of their seats. A three-year-old boy was said to been thrown across the aisle onto the lap of another passenger, while passengers hit the ceiling resulting in a number of injuries.
