Al Arabiya News Channel sources have confirmed that the Syrian opposition have nominated Mohammed Sabra as their lead negotiator for the upcoming peace talks in Geneva.
Nassir al Hariri has been named as the lead delegate from the Syrian opposition side, sources added.
Spokesman for the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) Salim al-Muslat confirmed to Al Arabiya’s sister channel Al Hadath that Syrian opposition groups are set to send 20 delegates and 20 consultants in total to the Geneva 4 talks.
The HNC and the delegation that attended the Astana talks on 23-24 January met in Riyadh on Friday to decide on its delegation for the upcoming talks.
UN envoy Staffan de Mistura has earlier warned that the opposition that he would pick their delegates to the talks opening in Geneva on February 20 if they could not decide by Wednesday last week on who would represent them.
