A video surfaced showing Brigadier Suheil al-Hassan, known as the Tiger, speaking to Syrian regime troops in Damascus while being guarded by Russian soldiers.
The Russian soldiers were standing around al-Hassan dressed in military uniforms, carrying firearms with their hands on the trigger, appearing on high alert.
Al-Hassan was also surrounded by members of the Syrian army who were also on guard.
Al-Assad brought al-Hassan from the province of Idlib to conduct military operations in Damascus, and it appeared that the brigadier was speaking to the troops about these operations.
It is not known if the video was taken before the eastern Ghouta air strikes, or after.
“This is Mount Qasyioun, blessed by Bashar al-Assad,” al-Hassan told the troops pointing at the mountain overlooking Damascus.
“Damscus awaits you, to dress her in victory… With God we will be victorious, and with faith we will be victorious. Remember that each one of you decided to fight to defend the truth, dignity, and to save Syria and its people,” he added.
