Three Katyusha rockets fell on Sunday near the United States embassy in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone which houses government buildings and foreign missions, according to reports.
According to Al Arabiya sources, several members of one family were wounded after a rocket landed near a civilian house near the US embassy in Baghdad.
Sirens immediately rang out at the American compound in the area hosting both diplomats and troops.
Three other rockets fell in the nearby Jadriya area, the Iraqi military said in a statement.
Six people were wounded, according to security sources.
