Iran has arrested alleged foreign intelligence agents as well as members of opposition groups in the province of Kerman, reported Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency on Monday.
A number of individuals affiliated with foreign intelligence services as well as several members of opposition groups have been arrested in Kerman, Fars cited Ahmad Ghorbani, the head of the province’s Islamic Revolutionary Court, as saying.
The arrested individuals have been sentenced, said Ghorbani, without saying what sentences have been issued for them.
Those convicted of cooperating with foreign intelligence services in Iran are often sentenced to death.
