Five civilians were killed in Syria’s Homs countryside after being targeted by a “terrorist group,” the Syrian state news agency SANA said on Friday, citing a police source.

The victims had been gathering truffles when they were attacked, SANA reported.

The group was not named. The report added that the numerous “terrorists” were on motorcycles when they opened fire.

ISIS and its affiliates are posing a threat in Syria despite being curbed in 2019, with increasing attacks and a growing number of fighters.
