Saudi FM, top US diplomat discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties in call: SPA

The top US and Saudi diplomats discussed bilateral ties during a phone call on Friday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Antony Blinken spoke about ways to strengthen ties between Washington and Riyadh as well as the latest situation surrounding regional developments, according to the SPA.

State Department Spokesman Matt Miller said the pair discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues. “The Secretary and the Foreign Minister affirmed their countries’ shared commitment to end the devastating conflict in Sudan and meet the urgent humanitarian needs of the Sudanese people,” Miller said in a readout of the call.

Last month, Blinken went to Saudi Arabia to meet with Saudi officials for talks on US-Saudi strategic cooperation on regional and global issues and other economic and security cooperation.
