At the beginning of the meeting, King Salman thanked the Saudi people for their well-wishes and kind prayers.

“He also expressed his appreciation for everyone who sent him their wishes of health and wellness from the leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, asking the Almighty God to grant everyone good health and happiness,” according to the cabinet statement, SPA reported.

Last week, the royal court said that the 88-year-old leader would be treated with antibiotics until the inflammation subsides, following medical tests at the royal clinics at Al Salam Palace due to “high temperature and joint pain.”

King Salman, the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, became ruler in 2015.
