Man accidentally shoots himself while posing for gun selfie

The 21 year-old was announced dead at the scene by an autopsy report

A vet’s desire to take impressive selfies to post on social media led to his accidental death as he tried to pose with a live gun, the Daily Mail reported.

Otero Aguilar has previously taken less risky selfies lounging next to a bottle of alcohol and posing next to cars. However, this self-operated photo-shoot did not go as expected.

Aguilar, a 21 year-old Mexican national, was reportedly drinking with friends in northern Mexico City when he died while posing for the picture.

Aguilar’s friend, Omar Abner Campos Vives was arrested while another friend, identified as‘El Paco’ fled after the incident.

The ministry of Public Security said Aguilar’s head-shot appeared to be an accident, according to Proceso.

“I heard a gunshot, and then I heard somebody screaming and realized somebody had been hurt. I called the police straight away and when they arrived they found that he was still alive,” Neighbor Manfredo Paez Paez, 57, told the local media local media.

Autopsy reports confirmed that the young adult died at the scene.
