Moroccan envoy denies losing €20,000 at Paris Airport
Morocco’s ambassador to the United States denied he lost €20,000 at a Paris Airport earlier in the week
Morocco’s ambassador to the United States denied on Sunday he lost €20,000 at a Paris Airport earlier in the week.
It was earlier claimed that the ambassador was leaving Air France's VIP lounge at Charles De Gaulle airport and heading for a flight to New York Wednesday when two mobile phones fell from his bag and he realized the money was missing.
Agence France-Presse had reported the news citing police sources.
But the ambassador issued a statement strongly denying the claim.
“I would like to formally deny this inaccurate information as I was that day in my office in Washington receiving a U.S. State Department senior official,” the ambassador said in the statement obtained by Al Arabiya News.
