Over 500 Pakistani pilgrims stranded in Doha transported to Muscat

Published: Updated:

Over 500 Pakistani pilgrims were flown to Muscat on Tuesday after being stuck at Doha airport following the diplomatic rift that broke out in the region.

It has been reported that the pilgrims were traveling to Saudi Arabia through Doha for Umrah, but were left stranded in the airport after several countries, including Saudi Arabia, took the decision to cut ties with Qatar.

Pakistani daily Dawn News reported that Oman Air and Qatar Airways transported the pilgrims from Doha to Muscat, and from Muscat to Saudi Arabia.

Pakistani citizens are advised against travelling to Saudi Arabia through Qatar Airways, or on any flights from Qatar due to the unpredictability of the current situation.
