EU President Donald Tusk on Thursday confirmed the bloc would hold a special summit to seal the hard-fought Brexit agreement with Britain on November 25.
“If nothing extraordinary happens, we will hold a European Council meeting in order to finalise and formalise the Brexit agreement. It will take place on Sunday the 25th of November at 9:30 am,” Tusk said.
On Wednesday and in a hard-won victory, British Prime Minister Theresa May persuaded her Cabinet to back a draft divorce agreement with the European Union, a decision that triggers the final steps on the long and rocky road to Brexit.
But she still faces pitfalls and threats from her domestic opponents as she tries to navigate the UK’s orderly exit from the EU. Read more
