Gunman attacks Sikh religious site in Kabul, Afghanistan: Interior Ministry
A lone gunman attacked a Sikh-Hindu religious temple in Kabul on Wednesday, the interior ministry said, killing 25 worshippers and wounding eight.
Defense forces had blocked off the area and were trying to counter the attack, Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in a message to journalists.
ISIS claimed the attack on the temple, according to the SITE intelligence group, in the latest assault by the extremist outfit targeting a minority group in Afghanistan.
ISIS said its fighters were currently carrying out an attack on the temple, according to a statement released by SITE, which monitors extremist networks worldwide.
