VIDEO: Unexpected rain washes Islam’s holy Kaaba in Mecca
Unexpected rainfall hit the Mecca region of Saudi Arabia with many showing Muslims worshipping on the wet grounds on Islam’s holiest site, the Kaaba.
Pilgrims were quick to take to social media with the hashtag #Mecca_Now showing pictures and videos of the Kaaba while rainfall hits the area.
“Chances of precipitation of medium to heavy rainfall with active surface winds will continue to limit the horizontal visibility of highlands in Najran, Jazan, Asir, Baha and Mecca,” Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Metrology and Environmental Protection said on a statement published on their website in Arabic.
