Iran director slams Ahmadinejad’s Lebanon visit

After banning of film on Iran’s post election unrest

Iranian film director Hana Makhmalbaf slammed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent visit to Lebanon that prompted a halt on screening her film “Green Days” in Beirut Film Festival.

“Ahmadinejad came to Lebanon and brought darkness with him,” Iranian director Hana Makhmalbaf told Al Arabiya’s Studio Beirut.

The Lebanese government and state security forces exercised pressure on the organizers of the Beirut International Film Festival to cancel the screening of Makhmalbaf’s film “Green Days,” a docudrama about the political unrest Tehran that followed the 2009 presidential elections.
