From Arabian Business: Shrek spinoff movie renamed after UAE censor concerns

Hollywood studio Dreamworks Animation's Shrek spinoff movie 'Puss in Boots' has been renamed by UAE censors over fears some film fans might find the title offensive.

A source confirmed the film was to be renamed 'Cat in Boots' in the UAE and it is believed the change is due to concerns by UAE censors and the studio that the word 'puss' may offend some Arab film fans and was considered in bad taste.

Arabian Business has also learned that when the actor Antonio Bandaras, who voices the title character in the film, was promoting the film at the recent Doha Tribeca Film Festival he was not allowed to mention the name of the title character or the original name of the film.
