Actress in anti-Islam film says everyone was deceived

Published:

Actors involved in the making of “Innocence of Muslims,” the amateurish anti-Islam film, have started to speak to media following the violent protests around the Middle East saying they were deceived by the producer.

“I don't know why he did. But he deceived me. I believe he deceived other actors,” Cindy Lee Garcia, a California actress who was featured in the film, said in an interview with the Middle East Broadcasting Center (MBC).

Garcia said she was unaware the film was about the Prophet Mohammed, adding that she auditioned for a film called the “Desert Warriors.”

“I never mentioned the name of Mohammed, I never heard the name of Mohammed except when I saw the clip, trailer, and I never understood what they were trying to do. None of it made sense to me. The things that I was seeing,” said Garcia, speaking about the trailer that has been uploaded on YouTube.

The film sparked anger among Muslims around the world, leaving dozens dead or injured.

“The last day when I asked him: "Why did you do this? Why did you hurt these people? Why did you do this to us?" and he told me because he was tired of the radical Muslims killing innocent people and he said that he was from Israel,” Garcia said.
