As the chief executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) since its establishment, Mr. Al Qaed spearheads the Kingdom of Bahrain’s eTransformation strategy, in addition to being a key contributor to several high profile projects across the region. Prior to his current appointment, he served as chief executive ffficer of the eGovernment Authority (eGA) before its merger with the Central Informatics Organization (CIO) in 2015, which resulted in the creation of the iGA whose responsibility it is to facilitate the ICT infrastructure within the kingdom. The iGA caters to a range of sectors supporting digital transformation, governance, statistics and population, information security, and radiocommunication. It also proposes public policies, legislation, and government decisions regarding the implementation of the eGovernment programs, including the deployment necessary for information technology and data programs. He previously held key positions at the CIO, rising to general director of information technology.
