Etihad warns of flight delays after fog at Abu Dhabi airport
Airline says flights could be delayed by up to three hours
Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has warned of flight delays of up to three hours after fog descended over the UAE capital’s main airport.
The fog, between 6am and 8am local time, caused 14 flights to be diverted to other airports in the UAE, Etihad said.
“Passengers who may miss connecting flights will be re-booked on later flights or alternatively provided with hotel accommodation, where necessary,” the airline said in a statement.
The Etihad flights were diverted to Al Ain, Al Bateen and Al Maktoum International Airport in the UAE.
Abu Dhabi’s international airport briefly closed in early March, amid another instance of fog.
