G20 Summit outcome to enhance economic growth

Positive results achieved at the G20 Summit will contribute significantly to support solidarity among its member countries, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, said in a cable of thanks to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Deputy Crown Prince left the city of Hangzhou after attending the two-day G20 Summit.

“I would like to commend the positive results reached during the summit, hoping that they contribute significantly to supporting the solidarity among the countries of the group and enhancing global economic growth,” he said in his cable.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Prince Mohammed held talks with a number of leaders on Monday. Prominent among them were French President Francois Hollande, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, South Korean President Park Geun-hye, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Brazilian President Michel Temer, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

The talks bore fruitful results and helped in strengthening ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a strong pitch for Saudi participation in the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) in his bilateral meeting with Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on Sunday.

Modi called for stronger partnership with the Kingdom in the maritime, infrastructure, energy and low-cost housing sectors.
He invited the Deputy Crown Prince to visit India.

Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment Majed Al-Qasabi said the visits to China and Japan by the Deputy Crown Prince witnessed intensive meetings which resulted in the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and joint economic and trade programs that will increase investments.
