Indian passport holders with an American visa or a green card will be granted entry visa on arrival in the UAE.
This has come into effect following a decree approved by the UAE Cabinet, reports Gulf News on Wednesday.
“Citizens of the Republic of India who are holders of normal passports with a six-month, or more, valid green card or visa issued by the United States of America shall be granted entry visas to the UAE from all ports for a period of 14 days, subject for a single renewal for the same period upon payment of applicable fees,” an official statement said.
The simplified visa process is expected to be a big boost for UAE-India relations leading to enhanced economic, political, and trade and business exchanges. It will also enable the UAE in becoming a leading country in tourism.
Around 1.6 million Indian tourists visited the UAE last year.
