A recent study by Zurich Middle East has revealed that educating a single child in the UAE from pre-school through to university will cost an estimated one million dirhams.
The figure comprises the cost of education for two years at pre-school, six years at primary school, six at secondary school and three years at a UK university.
According to the report, pre-university education is totaled at an estimated Dh 528,486. This total has slightly increased compared to last year, added the report.

Moreover, the total is not inclusive of the cost of books, trips and uniforms. Similarly, the price may increase by 40 percent when considering top-tier schools.
Aware of the importance of education and the need to plan for it, especially when observing the figures above, Zurich CEO Walter Jopp, said: “It is important to start planning early to ensure enough capital is available when your child is ready to start university.”
“Adopting a long-term approach to savings could help fund the best education for your child without worrying about the cost,” he added.
