Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih said on Monday that King Salman bin Abdulaziz is to open the project of economic Waad Al Shamaal projects on Thursday at costs worth SAR 85 bln riyals.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Energy said the Waad Al Shamaal City projects is expected to add 10,000 thousand jobs at its opening phase.
The Waad Al Shamaal project is a planned city that will focus on the mining industries. The Saudi Council of Ministers has so far allocated 290 square kilometers for the city, in addition to 150 square kilometers for Ma'aden Phosphate Industries and its other projects, bringing the total area allocated to the city to 440 square kilometers.
