Coronavirus: Kuwait reports 526 new cases in 24 hours, total climbs to 29,921

Kuwait reported 526 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours and six virus-related deaths, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 29,921and the COVID-19 death toll to 236, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

Out of the newly confirmed cases, 177 are of Kuwaiti nationals, 99 are of Indians, 86 of Bangladeshis, 84 of Egyptians, and the remaining cases are of people of other nationalities.

Fifty-four people in the Hawally region are among the 526 people who were infected. Hawally is one of the few areas in Kuwait where the government has continued to impose a 24-hour curfew and restricted movement in and out of.

The ministry conducted 2,721 swab tests in the past 24 hours, which makes the total number of swab tests issued since the outbreak began 306,006.
