“One of the cases that was monitored by the authorities was of a person who experienced some [COVID-19] symptoms, but he carelessly did not get [medically] examined and did not adhere to physical distancing and preventive measures, which led to the infection spreading to 45 people near him from three families, and these new infections also resulted in the death of an elderly woman from his own family. She had suffered from chronic diseases such as leukemia and kidney failure,” al-Hammadi said.

The UAE’s coronavirus tally stands at 75,098 confirmed cases, 66,943 recovered patients and 391 deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health.

Al-Hammadi added that the coronavirus recovery rate in the UAE reached 90 percent, while deaths amounted to 0.5 percent only.

He also announced that medical institutions in the country conducted more than 7.5 million COVID-19 tests since the beginning of the pandemic.
