Dubai Police arrest trio, including DJ, for flouting coronavirus rules at party
Dubai Police have arrested two managers of a tourism company and a DJ for organizing a party for more than 100 people in a closed place in violation of the UAE laws in curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus, an official said on Monday.
“The organizers, who had not acquired necessary permission from competent authorities, clearly violated social distancing rules and the announced precautionary measures against coronavirus, and put the lives of many at risk,” Brigadier Jamal Salem al-Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations at Dubai Police said.

Dubai Police called upon “all tourism companies, local businesses and community members to support efforts to limit the spread of the pandemic, maintain social distancing and refrain from organizing or attending crowded events that could contribute in spreading the virus,” according to the statement.
On Monday, the UAE reported 777 new coronavirus cases, a rise of 137 cases detected a day earlier, with no new deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
In a major development, the UAE also issued on Monday an emergency approval for the use of a COVID-19 vaccine, currently in its third phase of testing in the Gulf country.
“The vaccine will be available to our first line of defense heroes who are at the highest risk of contracting the virus,” said the NCEMA in a tweet.
