Coronavirus: UAE records 1,390 COVID-19 cases, two deaths as infections spike
The United Arab Emirates recorded a staggering 1,390 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 127,624, the Ministry of Health and Prevention announced on Tuesday.

The country has been battling with a recent surge of infections. Since October 5, health officials have detected over 1,000 cases a day.
However, the rise in the number of daily coronavirus cases is “normal and expected” and is part of the current “global pattern” as the world begins its gradual return to normalcy, spokesperson for the UAE’s health sector, Dr. Farida al-Hosani had said last week.

Two people died due to complications caused by COVID-19, which raises the virus-related death toll in the country to 482.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries rose to 122,458 after 1,708 people recovered from the coronavirus.
