Fox News host Greg Gutfeld compared activists of Harvard’s fossil-fuel divestment campaign with “radical Islamists” who want to stop the progress of America.

The outspoken co-host of “The Five” questioned Tuesday fossil-fuel divestment activists are like radical Islamists who “wanted to force existence back to a time when [The Prophet] Mohammad walked the earth?”

“The only difference between them and the divestors is that radical Islamists cut to the chase.”

The fossil-fuel divestment movement led by environmental activist Bill McKibben has reached 256 universities across the United States, calling for their institutions to drop investments with fossil fuel companies.

Speaking sarcastically, Gutfeld said he endorsed the divestment movement and is keen to see Harvard “give up oil entirely” by supporting the student’s divestment. “Let the kids and their idiotic professors freeze their Marxist a*** off next winter,” Gutfeld said on ‘The Five.’

The libertarian political satirist stirred controversy in August 2010, when he announced he was raising money “to build a Muslim gay bar” next to the Ground Zero mosque in New York city.

He explained his intention was “to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world,” after reading the Cordoba House website which he says “preaches tolerance and communication.”
