UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, has said that the Qatari Emir’s absence from the Jerusalem Summit in Dhahran, held on Sunday, is a clear case of obstinacy.

Gargash’s tweet on Monday said: “The absence of the Emir of Qatar from the Dhahran Summit is a natural and regrettable result of the policy of obstinacy adopted by Doha since the crisis began. The absence of wisdom continues along with isolation and marginalization, this will not be compensated by the media, public relations companies, or ‘paid loyalty.’”

Gargash stressed that Dhahran Summit comes during a very crucial phase in the Arab world, especially as it is necessary in these exceptional circumstances to bring together Arab viewpoints and enhancing collective action. “King Salman bin Abdul Aziz is capable of that,” he said.

The Jerusalem summit, held in Dhahran on Sunday, stressed the pledge of support for the Palestinian cause. The 29th Arab Summit's final communiqué also stressed the need to support strategies for the preservation of Arab national security.
