Fourth license to operate cinema awarded to Lux Entertainment company

Saudi Minister of Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad, who is also Chairman of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media, handed over here on Wednesday, the fourth license for operation of cinemas to Lux Entertainment Company, in partnership with Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development, Sinopolis International and Al-Taeir Group.

These alliances seek to establish about 300 theaters, at various venues, in 15 cities and towns, across the Kingdom, within five years.

The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media has approved on December 11, 2017, issuance of licenses for those wishing to open theaters and multiplexes, in order to support the film sector to stimulate growth and economic diversification and provide job opportunities, within new industries, in line with the Vision 2030 of the Kingdom.
