Saudi Arabia, UAE donate $70 million to pay wages of Yemeni teachers

General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Doctor Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said Saudi Arabia and the UAE will provide $70 million to support the wages of teachers in Yemen in cooperation with UNICEF.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE’s aid will help pay the wages of 135,000 teaching staff and support the economic and livelihood conditions of the Yemeni people.

Al-Rabeeah said the coalition members expect the new Yemeni government to prioritize the economic and humanitarian situation, activate the work mechanism, facilitate procedures and work on improving its performance within the context of international efforts to improve the livelihood conditions.
