Saudi Arabia says it will protect ports, regional waters after tanker attacks

Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Khalid al-Falih condemned on Thursday the attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, saying Riyadh would take all necessary measures to protect its ports and regional waters.

According to Saudi Press Agency, al-Falih in his statement also called on the international community to take responsibility and protect international shipping lanes.

Al-Falih said that Saudi Arabia and Aramco are committed to providing reliable oil supplies to the international market in the wake of the tanker attacks.

He said the energy ministry and Aramco have increased their readiness to deal with attacks.
