Oman Air to suspend all flights to Bahrain, Egypt amid coronavirus

Oman Air will be suspending all flights to and from Bahrain and Egypt as of March 19, the airlines announced on their official Twitter page.

“Due to new travel restrictions, Oman Air will suspend all flights between the Sultanate of Oman and the nations of Bahrain and Egypt from Thursday, 19 March 2020, until further notice,” the statement said.

Non-GCC citizens have been banned from entering the country through all air, land, and seaports. Anyone entering the Kingdom who is not from the Arabian Gulf will placed under quarantine.

Oman has reported 24 confirmed cases of the deadly virus.

The country has enforced several other measures to contain the spread of coronavirus, such as closing all public parks, and banning all public gatherings.

Oman on Tuesday also closed all mosques, shops in malls except food stores and pharmacies, and traditional and local souqs, according to Oman’s state television.
