In military-style drill Mursi supporters gear up for fight

As millions of Egyptians poured into the streets on Sunday calling for the ouster of President Mohammad Mursi, a number of the Islamist leader’s supporters were filmed at a Cairo sit-in doing military style fitness exercises.

Some of them carried sticks and wore homemade armor shields and construction helmets raising fears of potential clashes that could turn deadly.

The armed supporters of President Mursi said their combat preparation was for self-defense to protect the presidential palace.
Security officials said two people have been killed and more than 200 have been wounded.

The headquarters of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood was attacked with petrol bombs, the Islamist movement and security officials said, according to AFP.

Around 150 "thugs" attacked the building in the Moqqattam neighborhood with molotov cocktails, birdshot and stones, said Gehad al-Haddad, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The opposition National Salvation Front said protesters will remain in the streets until the fall of the regime.

The Freedom and Justice Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, said the pro-Mursi coalition will also remain in sit-ins to defend until opposition end their rallies.
