Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud ordered the distribution of around 1.4 billion Saudi riyals ($373 million) to families registered under the Social Security System (SSS), said Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Yusuf bin Ahmed al-Othaimeen.

The state news agency, SPA, said that among those who will benefit from the financial aid are seniors, widows, single mothers and orphans.

“Such families who are covered by the SSS will benefit from this financial aid in order to make sure their needs are met in the holy month of Ramadan,” said the report, adding that the king is keen on meeting the needs of all citizens, especially those less fortunate.
