Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted former President Ali Abdullah Saleh have leaked the UN special envoy to Yemen’s proposed peace plan.

In recent days, the United Nations’ vision for Yemen’s future presented by its envoy Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed has been causing controversy across the country after the proposal for future peace was leaked by one of the Houthi leadership.

The legitimate government of Abd Rabbu Mansour al-Hadi have said they are accepting Ould Sheikh Ahmed’s plans but warned that any peace plans must be based from the GCC initiative and previous UN resolutions on Yemen.

The latest peace plan suggests Vice President Ali Moshin al-Ahmar would step down and Hadi would agree to become little more than a figurehead after a Houthi militias' withdrawal from the capital Sanaa.
