Iraq will be preparing quarantine centers along its territories bordering Iran after Tehran announced at least 5 people tested positive for the coronavirus, the ministry of health announced on Thursday.

The Iraqi health minister held a meeting to discuss the preventative measures the authorities should take especially in light of the appearance of coronavirus cases in neighbouring Iran in the last few days, according to the ministry's Facebook page.

The ministry allocated a special budget to implement preventative measures including "taking the necessary measures in airports and land and sea border outlets in all Iraqi territories, and ensuring the establishment of dedicated health centers to deal with suspected cases, if any [were to be found]."
