Protesters demonstrate in front of Qatar’s embassy in Paris

A number of Arab and French activists have staged a protest in front of Qatar’s embassy in the French capital of Paris, rejecting the upcoming visit of the Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Al-Thani and protesting against Doha's policy in support of some extremist groups.

Human rights activists and groups said they were protesting against Qatar’s aggressive foreign policies that sponsor extremism and have demanded Doha stop funding terrorist groups.

Protesters were seen carrying slogans in French and English calling on the Qatari government to stop supporting extremist groups, whose terror operation have reached Western capitals and Paris in particular.

Qatar’s emir announced a planned visit this week to France to consult with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss mediation efforts aimed at trying to defuse the Gulf dispute.
