Abu Dhabi inflation edges up to 1.8 % in November

Abu Dhabi’s inflation increased reaching 1.8 percent in November, according to numbers from the emirate’s Statistics Centre (SCAD) released the following November consumer price data for the Gulf Arab emirate on Sunday.

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which account for 16 percent of the basket, increased 3.8 percent on an annual basis in November.

Clothing and footwear and furnishings and household equipment groups also grew 3.8 percent year-on-year.

Analysts polled by Reuters in September forecast that average inflation in the UAE federation would accelerate to 1.5 percent in 2013 and 2.3 percent in 2014 from 0.7 percent in 2012, which was the lowest level since 1990
