King Abdullah Economic City launches $27 mln pipeline project

King Abdullah Economic City has launched a natural gas pipeline project worth SAR102 million ($27.2 million) in the Industrial Valley along with  Gas Arabian Services.

According to a report by Asharq Al-Awsat in a report quoted Fahd Al-Rasheed, managing director and CEO of KAEC, who said the “project’s inauguration aims to fulfill future and current needs”.

The 13.7 km-long pipeline serving a low-pressure system is part of a comprehensive project that Aramco was keen to implement with KAEC to supply the economic city with natural gas from Yanbu.

The development works related to the pipeline are expected to be completed within 15 months.

The pipeline project features a launch area, a joint free zone between KAEC and Aramco in the fifth phase of the Industrial Valley, and another delivery zone in the second phase.

For investors companies, factories and gas-dependent industries the pipeline offers the prospects of lower operational costs in the Industrial Valley.
