Dubai is planning to build the tallest twin towers in the world, the UAE based daily Gulf News reported Tuesday.

The towers are due to be located at The Lagoons, the master-development taking shape near the Creek.

They will be included in a multi-million project known as Dubai Creek Harbour conducted by developer Emaar Properties and investment firm Dubai Holding.

The project will be officially launched on Nov. 1 when the first properties will go on sale in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Moscow and London.

The properties are part of the 40-floor Dubai Creek Residences. The emirate is already home to the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa.
