Coronavirus: Kuwait records 604 new cases in 24 hours, 51 pct are Kuwaitis

Kuwait recorded on Friday 604 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, as 678 people recovered from COVID-19, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 38,678 and the total recoveries to 30,190, according to the health ministry.

Kuwaitis make up 51.82 percent of the new infections, while non-Kuwaiti expatriates make up 48.18 percent.

Five people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of virus-related deaths in Kuwait to 313.

Kuwait on Thursday announced that the nationwide curfew will be reduced starting from June 21, and will be from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The 24-hour lockdown in Hawalli, al-Nugra, Hawalli square, and Khaitan will also be lifted beginning next Sunday.
