The Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Anwar Gargash, said in an interview with journalists in Paris that isolating Qatar “may last for years.”

“We bet on time, we do not want to escalate the situation, we want to isolate it,” Gargash said, whose country, along with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries, severed ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism.

He added that “Doha is still in a state of denial and anger,” noting that “a list of complaints from Qatar will be prepared within days.”

He continued: “We suggest to have a Western monitoring system for Qatar’s activities to ensure that its behavior towards terrorism has changed.”

He pointed out that “Turkey is still trying to remain neutral in the Qatari crisis,” hoping that Ankara remains “wise,” and recognizes that its interest lies in supporting the action against Doha.
