Video: Saudi cultural festival comes to children cancer center

Children seeking treatment at the King Fahad National Centre for Child Cancer and Research in Riyadh experienced their very own al-Janadriyah festival inside hospital walls.

The Janadriyah heritage festival is an annual event which celebrates symbols of Saudi identity and culture in a village near Riyadh.

Children who couldn’t make it to the event this year got to experience a Junior version.

The special event was sponsored by the “Make a wish” program and Saudi Fransi Capital following requests from sick children who wished to participate in the festival.

“Make a wish” program and Saudi Fransi Capital organized the event answering the wishes of the children who wanted to participate at Janadiyah festival. The junior festival created a small tent, with the help of many volunteers, who presented games and folkloric activities,” said Dr. Abdallah Al-Jafri, director of King Fahad National Centre for Children's Cancer and Research.

The children danced along with folk performers who demonstrated traditional Saudi moves.

Volunteers played board games and several other fun activities with the child patients which all in all created a joyous atmosphere.
