Yanni dedicates Tantora festival performance to ‘Saudi dreamers’

Greek composer and musician Yanni held a concert in al-Ula as part of the Winter at Tantora festival.

Greek composer and musician Yanni dedicated his performance of “One Man’s Dream” to his Saudi Arabian audience for his belief that they can “achieve their dreams.”

Alluding to the reforms associated with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Yanni said during a concert held as part of the Winter at Tantora festival: “You have a lot of dreams in this country, I’ve heard about it a year and a half ago when I was here, and I was very impressed. I was very touched.”

“You are reaching for the sky, that’s what you’re doing. You have a vision of what you want your country to become,” he added during the concert held in al-Ula, northwest of Saudi Arabia.

“These dreams of yours are challenging to say the least. They are very difficult and beautiful, and some might say they are impossible. But if anyone can do this, can make this dream become reality, it’s you, it’s my Saudi friends that can do it,” he said speaking directly to a cheering crowd.

The Winter at Tantora festival ran for seven weeks in the city of al-Ula combined cultural and entertainment events, including concerts by international renowned artists like Andrea Bocelli, Yanni, Renaud Capucon and Lang Lang.
