Sexual harassment scandal topples top Iranian media official

Former TV Press news anchor Sheena Shirani revealed that she was being sexually harassed for years by Hamid Reza Emadi.

President of Iran’s radio and television, Mohammed Serfraz, publicly resigned after sexual harassment scandals of female employees were committed by colleagues.

The resignation took place after former TV Press news anchor Sheena Shirani revealed that she was being sexually harassed for years by Hamid Reza Emadi, a former assistant to Serfaz, when he was director for Press TV.

Shirani exposed Emadi, as well as studio director Payam Afshar, during television interviews, as well as recordings and text messages, which were published through social network.

The recordings proved that she was a victim of sexual and verbal molestation several times, which forced her to resign and leave the country.
